What to expect in counseling:
Whatever brings you to counseling, understand that this is a safe place for you to be. Whatever you say within the walls of my office will remain confidential, and you will find a safe haven for you to express anything and everything you are feeling. Life can be hard at times, and you may be experiencing a season of heartache or pain. You are not alone. It’s my belief that counseling is a tool God can use to help guide and heal hurting or confused people through the power and wisdom of His Word. I use 2 Timothy 3:16-17 for this model:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
While I use Scripture as the foundation of my Biblical worldview, I also am a firm believer that there is a lot to learn in relationship and through them. Through building trust within the context of a therapeutic relationship with me, I hope you find an outlet to be able to express your struggles free of judgment and with unconditional support.
